Art Room

I didn't add pictures of this room when I blogged the house so I have to add it!!!

This is my favorite room in the house!!! :) I've always wanted an "art room." I'm no artist but having this room really helped me make some goals and follow through. While having this room I got a guitar (for my birthday), and bought a piano and spent hours and hours learning to play both better. I took guitar lessons and really progressed...I'm still an ameature but I'm way better than I was.

This room also benefited Matt and I because we spent lots of time creating abstract art pieces. :) Sometimes very abstract :) We would make a date night of it often and would go get frames or objects from DI or Saver's and then go home and see what we could make of them! We had good times! We also got a bit of scrapbooking done, and when I say we, I mean me :) That's not Matt's forte which is fine, but he would help when I asked him to! What a sweetie!!! I love the green! I think it turned out real nice!

Our Most Bestest Favoritist House EVER!

I'm getting much more nervous and sad about moving and selling our home. We spent the last year and a half making this home perfect for us. We painted just about every inch of this place including the cupboards and the ceiling beams. We even painted the 2nd bedroom twice because we didn't like the 1st color that we painted it! :) We've put so much time and effort into it that when you walk in you think.... "this home definitely suits Matt and Shauna!!!"

Well all the contract paperwork is in, the earnest money is paid, the appraisal is tomorrow and the closing date is set for May 31st! I'm not ready to say goodbye to our cute little place!!!
It's not only just the house that I love but we go biking, skating, and scootering all the time on the Ogden Parkway trail. That is definitely a perk to being right here, not to mention I can be snowboarding within 20 minutes of making the decision that I want to go! And Pine View is right up the road! Ahhhh!!!! I love this place! Have I said that yet? :) I'm also really going to miss my family! (if we end up moving out of state)

The scary part of this whole thing is the "IF" part. We don't even know if we're moving or where Matt will end up getting a job or when. But we decided that we should put our house up on KSL cause we knew the likely hood of us leaving was great. Well it was up there for like 3 weeks when we got our offer and nobody has called on it since, so I really don't think we can turn this offer down! If we're leaving, we have to sell it! We can't get stuck paying another mortgage or rent on top of this one.... so it's pretty much a no brainer on what we have to do but I really, really don't want to!!! If we end up staying in Utah and in this area, Matt and I will be very, very upset, which would be the understatement of the year, if that happened! As much as I want to stay in Utah I almost don't once we sell this house because I want to have a reason for selling it, ya know?

Well we took some pics when we put it on KSL so I'll post them now so we'll never forget our 1st home!!!

Bu-bye home!

Kyle's 26th Birthday

I normally don't do this, but hey why don't I start now.... :)
So Kyle turned 26 on the 25th of this month.

He was so funny when he blew out his candles. He only had to blow out 2 candles and yet he managed to miss one completely :) Guess that means he's ganna have a girlfriend this year :) Ha Ha.

I love Kyle so much! I remember being a little girl and looking up to him so much. I still do in more ways than 1, you know he is like 6'4 :) Anyways... I always wanted to spend time with him! I'd always beg him to let me go with him places. I remember he used to buy me little gifts randomly. One time he gave me this really cool rock bracelet and another time he gave me a colorful heart ring. He is so thoughtful! Kyle has such a good and soft heart! He looks like a big tough guy and he is, but he's also a softy! I love that about him!

He is also Hilarious! I remember coming home when Ryan was throwing one of his parties at the house. And Kyle was up on the microphone doing a little stand up comedy. The whole place was laughing so hard! :) He's always making everyone laugh!

Kyle will always be there to protect you and stick up for you! I love when he and my other brothers would answer the door when I had a date, just to let the guy know that I had some big, strong, tall older brothers that were very protective of their little sis! :) In 7th grade, there was this one kid that liked me and we were hanging out at my house. Well we saw Kyle, through the window, heading to the front door to come inside. The guy ran out the back door saying "see you tomorrow." He was just very intimidated by him but still it was pretty funny!

When we were in school people would always ask me if I was Kyle's sister, especially the girls, they'd want to hear some stories that maybe he wouldn't tell them! :) I became known to a lot of people as Kyle's little sis. That's fine by me! I'm so proud to be his sister!

Well that's enough reminiscing for one day! The point is I love my bro!

Kizzle, Kyle, my brother, love you and Happy Birthday!

Thai Buddhist Services

Bre, Matt and I all went to the Buddhist services on Sunday. We stayed for 5 hours. We learned a whole lot about buddhism. We also did some walking meditation and breathing meditation. That was my favorite. The abbot then let us come and ask any questions that we had and then he spent about an hour explaining what they believe. What a wonderful experience. I wish I could learn about different religions for a living. I would love that!
Abbot Israt is on the left.

The food on this plate includes cooked bamboo, and actually I don't know anything else, but a lot of stuff I normally wouldn't eat :)

Spring, you are always welcome here!!!

And the spring bike rides begin! YAY!!! We took the Ogden Parkway Trail for quite a while and then cut into town. We went to check out what movies were playing at the dollar theater and then stopped at Del Taco for their yummy 45cent taco's. :) We stopped to watch a couple innings of the baseball games for young kids and then continued around beautiful Ogden! We love our home and the location we're in! It's so beautiful! We're so happy that spring is finally here! :)

Matt's Graduation!!!!

Matt did it!!! He is finally done with his Bachelor's degree in Health Care - Long Term Care Administration!!!!! Matt has worked really hard to get to this point and I am sooo proud of him!!!! We're also very happy because out of the 3 and 1/2 years of marriage we have shared ALL of it with school and now we don't have to!!! I'm ready to have a bit more time with him!!!! :) Yay!!! We can have regular dinners after work and sit down and chat together without bringing up the question "how much homework do you have tonight?" That'll be nice!

A happy couple, with much more time to spend together!!!

Thomas Monson was the Commencement speaker and he was awesome!!! He told everyone: "remember your ABC's"
Always keep a good Attitude, no matter what your situation!
Believe in yourself!!!!
and have Courage through your life endeavors!

Matt really loved all the formalities of graduating :) Especially the HOTT cap and gown, and the peachy pink tassle :)

Oh but he pulls it off so well!!!!! He really makes a good-looking graduate!!! :)

Matt and Shauna.... To The Rescue!

Here was our little addition to the family for a couple days :) We rescued this little Chihuahua on Washington Blvd on Friday. She was running along the road when Matt saw her. So we pulled over and it took us about an hour and some ruined jeans to get this cute little thing out from under the cars that she kept hiding under, and into our arms!!! :) We thought that she was hurt because she was having a hard time walking but then we realized that the nails went all the way around her paw. So we took her to Pet's Mart and got them cut and then the next day gave her a bath and got her lookin all nice :)

This little thing had two names in the couple days we had her. Matt wanted to keep her so to convince me of it he started calling her TWIXLY which is what I've always wanted to name a pet! Then we decided to try out one of my other favorite names, which is Freyja (pronounced Fraisha) after the goddess Freya!!! :) Don't tell our daughter, when we have one, that we gave a dog her name first, just for trial :) a couple people didn't like it (namely Jacob!!!! :) but we love it! We hope our future daughter does too! :)
Here is Matt getting not a little attached, but a lot attached :)

OOOOOh.... she really didn't like the bath but she felt so nice after. I have a hilarious video of her jumping up and down in the sink, but I couldn't post it due to technical reasons.

She stayed with us for a couple days and then since nobody had called in to report her missing or responded to our adds on KSL we gave her to a good family that already had one chihuahua and they knew exactly what to do for her.

I think we got a little attached but we are not domesticated enough to have an animal. We could hardly do a thing because we didn't want her to be home alone :) We were glad to have helped this cute little Freyja! :)

Mormon Battalian Historic Site

Hold on, I just have to add something funny here! We were visiting this museum and learning about the Mormon Battalian through their interactive motion pictures which also have special effects that make a room shake when the bulls run through the camp in the video! That is the exact time when the earth quake hit and the room was shaking like crazy and we all thought it was part of the special effects until the sister missionary who was taking us through the tour started freaking out and telling everyone that it was not normal for the whole room to be shaking. :) ha ha We survived an earthquake and while in a special effects room that was suppose to rumble like an earthquake!!! Super funny!!! ha ha ha :)
