Memorial Day '11

This memorial day was really great! Once again we were adopted by a couple of families in our ward so that we would have something to do for memorial day! (SO KIND) This is how it went:
BBQ, slip n slide, trampoline, nature walk, watched Megamind, canoeing on a BEAUTIFUL pond! What a gorgeous day and what gorgeous scenery!

Good food, good company, good fun, good day!!!! :)

DC Road Trip

May 12 - May 15, 2011
The night we got in, we got in a little late, but Jake and Leeann made us some dinner. And we hung out and planned the next couple days.
Zoey was making the cutest faces in the morning! She was frowning, then smiling, then frowning! It is hilarious! Check this out!!!

Jake was so sweet to ride his bike downtown in the morning to get us tickets to go up into the Washington Monument.

The view from the windows of the Washington Monument:

Inside of the Washington Monument

Looks like Matt just had the baby :) (written by Matt)
Forgot to take off the zoom when taking this picture, but it turned out to be a sweet pic of Alaina. :)
Here we are, going through the museums...
We stopped at all of my favorites: Museum of Natural History, Museum of National History, and the saddest museum: the Holocaust museum.

Views walking around the Smithsonian
State Capital Bldg

After dinner at a one of Jake and Leeann's favorite family style pasta restaurants we went walking around downtown to see the Lincoln memorial, and all of the war memorials.

We stopped at a couple more museums the next day. Didn't take too many pictures of the museums, but these ones are pretty darn cute!!!

Just hangin out at Leeann's apartment.

Thought we'd take a picture before heading out....so sad to go!
Zoey bein a lil cuddle bug!

All loaded up and ready to go.

Final Stop: Arlington National Cemetery. We had to stop to see the changing of the guards.

Drive home. Check this out, one second they're fine.......
the next, they're not! :) Ha ha ha ha

Hilarious!!!
We love our road trips, especially with the babies. We can't wait for the next one.

The Elms Pie Throwing :)

So ever year at my work we have a pie throwing fund raiser. The money is raised to help provide more activities to our residents. Staff, families members, and the residents all can participate.

Here I am enjoying the giving part of the pie throwing.
Gettin Ready for the first pie :)
This is after the first couple of throwers.
I think just about everyone in the building threw a pie at me that day :)

Thought this was an appropriate shirtv:)

Of course Shauna and Zoey had to join in on the fun!

Here I am after! It was super hard to get out of my hair!

This is not my favorite even of the year, but it raises a little money and the staff and residents love it!

Diane's Trip Out to NH

4/28 - 5/4
Diane got to come out and visit and meet Zoey! It's always nice to have family support and to have family love you enough to come 3000 miles to visit.
First time meeting Zoe, her welcoming party at the airport

BOSTON

The majority of the time we just spent "oooing" and "awwwing" at precious little Zo, Zo!

and of course giving her the adorable little baths. No baby ever looked cuter than when taking a bath.

We took a drive up 1-A which runs along the ocean and all the massive beach houses. :) We love to pick the one that we'll buy one day :)

We stopped at a couple beaches

Sunday was a beautiful day, flowers were a-blooming so we had to take advantage and have a mini photo shoot!

Diane wanted to see where her son works, so here he is... the big man on campus, busy at work.
Going out to eat, Zoey was such a lil trooper. She slept on the way there...
and slept as she joined us for dinner. :)
Back to "ooing and awwwing"

We enjoyed having Grandma Maylin here to visit. We hope she can come again soon!!!
