4th of JULY!

First things first, July 3rd...

So I wanted all the residents at work, Wasatch Care Center, to get a decent firework show even if it couldn't be everything they are used to. So I had saved $50 dollars of my budget to buy fireworks. So I went over to a tent in one of the grocery store parking lot and went over and told the guy that worked there that I had $50 and that I wanted to give the residents the best show that I could with that much. So he helped me find a good bundle for a good price and then also gave me a deal on a couple others so I could give them an even nicer show! So I went and stood in line to check out happy as could be because I felt like I was going to them an okay show. But I really had nothing big. The guy in front of me in line stood there with a huge fountain firework as big as a 5 gallon paint bucket. So he pays for the firework then turns around and gives it to me and says "This is for your residents." !!!!!!!!! Can you believe that! I only could mutter "thank you" before he left! I was blown away! I asked the guy at the checkout how much it cost and he said it was over 50 bucks! I just couldn't believe that someone could be so nice! I'll tell you what, that man reinstalled my hope and knowledge that people can be so kind and good! That was just wonderful and amazing to me! It made my day and a whole lot of others too! Anyway, so I was so excited, I invited my family to come join in and see the show! So we all enjoyed the fireworks together. And we had over 25 residents watch the fireworks (which is rare because most of them would be in bed by dark) but it was fun to see the residents get excited about the 4th of July, and I wish that guy could have seen how happy he made them! We saved his firework for the grand finale and it was awesome! What a wonderful night!

Afterward our family continued on with our family tradition of lighting sparklers together. It was great running around and throwing dangerous firesticks at each other :) (Jake) And seeing how big of a fire we could create in the parking lot! And when I say "we" I mean Jake again! :) Rebel!!! Ha ha! I was just so happy that my family came to support me and my job and my efforts to make it a nice night for the residents! I love em! Look at us, we are all just so happy! And It was awesome that Ryan and Shannon were able to be with us for all of this! It's too bad sometimes that they live in a land far far away called "California." :) But hopefully we'll all end up there :)
Here is evidence of Jake making a fire in the parking lot :). Note to self: never tell my boss about this blog or the fire in the parking lot! :) It was hard enough convincing her that we should have a firework show out there! :)

The 4th of July was awesome this year! It was jam packed with family, food, swimming, and fireworks, which should always be included on the 4th of July, but this year we also added a demolition derby which Matt and I have been hooked on since we went for the first time last year.
"Ultimate Frisbee" in the water with a football! Come on people, can you be a little more original!!! :)
Yes we are all professional synchronized divers! All except Matt, who claimed he was too close to the side every time! We have video of 'his "Oh no what do I do" fall' into the pool! It is hilarious! He did it like 3 times! Now that's impressive! Cutie Pie! I posted the video at the bottom!
Demolition Derby... I think we should make it a tradition!

Did you know that the first date Matt ever asked me on was to go see the Fireworks on the 24th but I had to say no because I was working down in Provo on that day! I'm glad we got married so we could share all the rest of em together! Life is good! and don't we just look so perfect together!
Happy Day!!!

23rd Birthday

Isn't it a beauty, you can't tell too much, but it's a beautiful green!

Ever since I took guitar lessons last year, I've told Matt that I want to buy a guitar! And I told him I really wanted one for my birthday! He convinced me that I had told him something else that he was sure I would want more so he wasn't going to get me a guitar! I was like... "whatever I said, I didn't mean it, I just want a guitar!" :) He was planning on getting me this all along, he just didn't want me to know about it! He did a dang good job! And I am soooo thankful and happy!

Dublin, Ireland

Our first sight of IRELAND!!!
These are the ladies we stayed with in Ireland! Natalie is on the left and Leah is on the right. David is Leah's husband and he was cool too but he was at work when we took this picture! :( They were spunky and really fun to hang out with! They were very helpful with making sure we saw the best of Ireland. We had a really good time and they were so nice! We barely got any sleep though cause we stayed up talkin the nights away! Good times!
This is their place. All the doors in Ireland are different colors! They are really proud of it. Their are post cards everywhere that say "the Doors of Ireland" and then show all different color doors. Their door was red.
A local taxi :) (It's free but they expect a tip)
St. Patrick's Cathedral!

Here is the Church of Christ Cathedral!

One of the coolest things we did was go to the Jail. The history of Ireland's fight for Independence is very intriguing. I won't tell you the whole story but I'll just tell you this... they have only been a free and independent country since 1922.
This is the newer section of the jail.

The older section of the jail A symbol of the last man executed for fighting for independence in 1916!
So we went on a tour to through a couple of cities but the main one was Glendalough.
The most beautiful spot in Ireland, it's a small town on the way to Glendalough.

Thought we'd have some fun while everyone was grabbing a bite to eat, since we didn't do that often on our trip! :)

Here is the actual city of Glendalough. It was an old worshiping town.

Driving through the country side!

Look at all the fun sheep! :)
Most random and funny sign we saw our whole trip!
Bar hopping! My favorite part of Ireland was the music! I bought a bunch of CD's but it's just not the same! I love Irish music, so it was a sweet experience to listening to traditional Irish music in Ireland!

Somehow I've always been able to do this, and no my feet aren't touching anything! It's the one weird talent I have.
